Christmas Comes Early to Whitby Museum this Year!

‘A Moorland Christmas’

A new film for Christmas by Anne Dodsworth featuring John Tindale interviewing moorland characters from the 1970’s and 80s about the harsh winters of the past and their wonderful times at Christmas. Watch the trailer below and see the full film at Whitby Museum.

Featuring the unique voices of Hannah Hauxwell, Mabel Race, Leo Welford, George Frampton, Dorothy Swales, Gladys Southgate and Lilian Whamond. Accompanied by new and historic film footage with thanks to Blow Your Trumpet Films and the Yorkshire and North East Film Archives.

Playing every hour alongside three other films at the special cinema at Whitby Museum, every day except Mondays as part of the ‘Vision of Whitby’ exhibition.

But hurry the museum closes on Sunday 5th December so this film is only available for a limited time. The museum will reopen on 1st February when the remainder of the exhibition will still be available.
