Father Nicholas Postgate, (1599-1679) was born in Egton Bridge and covertly served the Catholics in North Yorkshire during the reformation as a much loved priest for the last 20 years of his life, until he was arrested in Littlebeck and martyred at York in 1679 aged over 80. Monica Ventress and Sarah Booth of Whitby Literary and Philosopical Society tell us more about his life in this fascinating talk.
