Whitby Museum is run by the Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society. The Society is an entirely voluntary organisation, maintained by its members and supported by donations from the general public. We receive no money from national or local government. There are many ways to get involved, thus ensuring the museum survives and thrives and that the specialist collections are looked after, for the benefit of the local community and visitors of all ages. Why not help us to preserve our local history for generations to come.
