The King at Whitby

A chance to see some of the wonderful photographs from the Whitby Museum Tindale Collection in “The King at Whitby – a new exhibition to celebrate the King’s Coronation, opening on Saturday 29th of May 2023 at St Mary’s Church, Whitby, by the abbey. The Exhibition will run through May and June 2023.

All about the visit of the future King Charles to Whitby on a hot June day, back when he was a young prince in 1978.

Featuring photos and stories of how Whitby people reacted to Charles’ visit, including press coverage and John Tindale photography, and a special celebration floral display by Ann Gullon of Whitby town.

Admission to the exhibition is free and a donation to the church is welcome.
