“I have come not to do as much as other men, but more!”. A look into the stories of five Arctic explorers, all with Whitby connections, each made considerable contributions to Arctic exploration, putting their mark on the map, yet only Cook and Scoresby have remained well known through the years. Our Shipping and Cook curator, Dennis Buck is here to put that right!

Tickets are £5 to non-members and free to members of Whitby Lit & Phil. Tickets can be bought online (small online booking fee applies) or in person from museum reception during opening hours. Ticket price includes a free cup of tea or coffee.
